LxPC 23 January - Bad Weather Photowalk

Hooray, we’ve got bad weather expected all week!!
This is perfect for the first ever bad weather photo walk.

This may be a horrible idea, but the most interesting photos aren't always in comfortable conditions, so join me with a waterproof camera / smartphone, and rain gear and let’s go out and capture bad weather Lisbon.

It’s short notice but we’re chasing Mother Nature. Let’s aim to be adaptable and get out there when the weather is bad. Friday is looking to be off and on all day, with potential for an angry ocean.

We'll meet under the April 25th bridge. I'm hoping the walk along the Tagus will proove interesting, but planning to head across the highway around Belem and the gardens if it's not appeasing us.

The route is either 3km along the coast or 4km up and around Belem, well discuss as a group when we get there. Well end near Largo Princesa to wrap it up, with easy access to the 15e, and a few bar/restaurant options to choose from.

Please please please dress accordingly. Waterproof jacket, a backup poncho, and waterproof shoes or boots if you have them. It's common that you may have no choice but to walk through puddles on certain streets, and it's always fun to get photos of puddle jumping.

We are COUNTING ON IT to be raining, so check that your smartphone or camera is water resistant before you commit. THIS IS NOT THE WALK to bring your latest and greatest gear! We are not responsible for any damaged equipment, though we will lend you lots and lots of sympathy if anything happens.

The plan for this walk is:

• Meet under the April 25th bridge (near the paddle courts) - and hope for misty, cloudy, or punch of light through the clouds weather.
• Walk along the river - if it's inspiring, or detour back across the highway by the MAAT rooftop if it's not giving us what we want.
• Then depending how we're feeling with the weather, we'll either detour through the gardens, or take a walk up hill towards the stadium and back down Av. Da Torre de Belem to find food in Largo Princesa.
