Those who love comedy, or who are curious to come to their first comedy show, all are welcome. Shows will all take place in English, and may include some adult or edgy topics, so please be aware in case you're sensitive to some topics.

COMEDY GONG SHOW: VOTE COMEDIANS OFF THE STAGE - 1 Winner 🥇

For the first time in Lisbon, Selva Comedy Café presents an interactive show where you decide who wins. 🙋♀️🙋♂️
Yes, this is a live competition.
And if you've never seen a Gong Show, fair warning: it's merciless 😮💨
- Each comedian gets 30 seconds before judges (audience members) can raise a red card ❌
- Each card raise triggers a bell 🔔
- 3 red cards = you're out 👋
No questions asked, no time to finish your joke.
To survive and advance, comedians must complete 3 full minutes onstage with maximum 2 red cards. If they survive, they move to the next round ⏭️
In round 2, we repeat, and the final winner is chosen by audience vote from the survivors. 👏
WHY IS IT FUN?
First off all, who doesn’t like to watch people struggle?
(Under safe circumstances 😂)This show can be very stressful for comedians, because they are trying to convince you that they’re worth it.
And that's a challenge when your parents have made it clear that you aren't. 😮💨
But, they’re all here voluntarily and that will give us memorable moments and a night full of laughter.
The good thing is that, in the end, we all go home being better comedians, better friends, and more empathetic people (except the judges, we need you to be mean).
Additionally, judges are rotated frequently so you! get a chance of being a judge (if you want).
You will see about 15 different comedians competing for the prize 🏆, which means there will be plenty of opportunities.

*PS: the prize for the winning comedian will be announced at the start of the event.
WHERE IS IT?
This show will take place at the lovely Selva Comedy Café in Lisbon, in the neighborhood of Alcântara, a cozy space for stand up comedy and other select-crowd, intimate type of shows, which is easily accessible by public transport (tram, bus).Doors open at 8:30PM, arrive early to grab a drink and get a good seat.
We’ll serve snacks and light food 🥨 (not included in the price of the ticket).
The show will run from 9PM until 10:40-11:00PM with a 10-minute break in the middle.

No speed dating, no human bingo, no awkward conversations, just a hilarious good time hosted by experienced comedians. Laughter is guaranteed, even if love isn’t. This Lisbon singles event is in English.
Note: Due to the nature of the event and themes, this event is for ages 17+
How does it work?
For a sneak peek of the show's vibe, visit @comedydating on instagram.In the first half, our experienced comedians will warm up the crowd with comedy. Relax, have a drink, and laugh.
Then, in the second half, we will invite audience members to play dating games with us (all voluntary). It’s a great way to get to know each other in a low stakes fun way. There’s plenty of time to mingle and chat with others before the show, during the break, and afterwards.
- 8:30 PM: Doors Open. Come in. Get a drink, mingle, and fill out some anonymous submissions to get things started
- 9 PM: Show starts: The first half is comedy to get you smiling
- Short break: Mingle with people you've met
- 9:45 PM: Dating Games/Singles Event: get to know your fellow audience members and maybe find a new connection or two
- After? Well, now. That's up to you. The bar will stay open.
Do I have to be single to join?
Nope! While we want as many single people as possible, everyone is welcome. In fact, if you bring a single friend, you can even sign up for a Pitch My Bestie style segment, where you have 2 minutes to explain why people should date your friend.Can I come alone?
Absolutely! We’re a friendly bunch. The night is designed for opportunities to meet new people and be as bold as you want.Do I have to participate?
All of the games are voluntary. We encourage people to step out of their comfort zone, but no participation is required. However, our goal is that you feel relaxed enough and the games are low stakes enough that you'll feel comfy joining in.I'm shy. Is this only for extroverts?
No! You don't have to get up on stage. You don't have to be in front of anyone. We also have 1-on-1 and crowd activities you can participate in. We want everyone to feel comfortable.What does it cost?
