Emma Dalenberg & Sister Mary Margaret: Brooklyn in Lisbon

Details
Welcome to “Republic of Comedy”, the new international comedy club in Lisbon’s growing comedy scene! Bringing shows with the best local and international comedians at Xafarix, a historic venue tucked away in the heart of the city. This week we are proud to feature EMMA DALENBERG & SISTER MARY MARGARET!´
Emma Dalenberg and Sister Mary Margaret are individually captivating, New York City based performers - but what happens when they come together? Highly talented in their respective fields, the pair, who also happen to be roommates and good friends, are possessed by a mutual calling to get out of their tiny Brooklyn apartment, so for one night in Lisbon, the uniquely trained artists will be sharing the stage and performing their solo acts, curating a night of comedy, storytelling, and music, straight from New York City's underground arts scene.
EMMA DALENBERG is a Midwestern raised, New York City based, stand up comedian and alternative performer. She has toured internationally as an opening act for Reggie Watts and Randy Feltface, and has taken her own in progress solo show, 'Ball Was Life,' to 12 countries. Consistently bringing good vibes, a genuine love to connect with audiences of all backgrounds, and an ability to use humor to process the crazy world within and around us, she was voted 'Racket Magazine’s 2022 Minnesota Comic to Watch,’ has shared the stage with notable American comics, Michael Che, Dave Attell, and Big Jay Oakerson, won Best of Fest at the 2024 Rip City Festival in Portland, recently was chosen to be featured on Only Fans LMAOF TV Comedian highlight series, and is now attempting to find her way in the New York City scene.
SISTER MARY MARGARET is a multimedia artist based in New York City. She is classically trained in voice, piano, and violin. She wrote, performed and produced her debut body of work “Proud Mary” coming this August. Referencing her love of neo soul, trip hop, and folk- lush harmonies meet industrial and digital ambience, disintegrating senses of where one exists in time and space. With a distinctively dynamic and honest vocal, her sound defies genres, serving to embody the beauty of dissonance on all fronts. Sister Mary Margaret completed an Opera Performance degree on scholarship at the Purchase Conservatory of Music, which journeyed her through intense art song study and a series of dramatic roles. Halted by the pandemic, she turned to her inner world to create a sound completely her own. The raw, visceral nature of the operatic voice is still a major influence in her interdisciplinary art.
