Dating is a Joke!: A Comedy + Singles Event: Ages 40+ Edition!

A combination comedy show and singles event, Dating is a Joke! is a new kind of way to meet people while also having a blast.

No speed dating, no human bingo, no awkward conversations, just a hilarious good time hosted by experienced comedians. Laughter is guaranteed, even if love isn’t. This event is in English.

SPECIAL EDITION 40+ Show: You asked and we delivered. In May, we're doing a special 40+ edition. After all, love isn't just for Erasmus students.

How does it work?

In the first half, our experienced comedians will warm up the crowd with comedy. Relax, have a drink, and laugh.

Then, in the second half, we will invite audience members to play dating games with us (all voluntary). It’s a great way to get to know each other in a low stakes fun way. There’s plenty of time to mingle and chat with others before the show, during the break, and afterwards.

• 8:30 PM: Doors Open. Come in. Get a drink, mingle, and fill out some anonymous submissions to get things started
• 9 PM: Show starts: The first half is comedy to get you smiling
• Short break: Mingle with people you've met
• 9:45 PM: Dating Games/Singles Event: get to know your fellow audience members and maybe find a new connection or two
• After? Well, now. That's up to you. The bar will stay open.

Do I have to be 40+ to join this show? What if I'm 38?
For the May 23 show, we're doing a special 40+ edition. We want participants to be near 40 or above. If you're spiritually 40+ or almost 40, that's fine, too.

Do I have to be single to join?
Nope! While we want as many single people as possible, everyone is welcome. Sometimes unavailable people come to support their single friends and that's ok.

Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Most people come alone. We're a friendly bunch and the night is designed for you to meet new people. Also, we've noticed you often have better odds if you come alone.

Do I have to participate?
All of the games are voluntary. We encourage people to step out of their comfort zone, but no participation is required. However, our goal is that you feel relaxed enough and the games are low stakes enough that you'll feel comfy joining in.

I'm shy. Is this only for extroverts?
No! You don't have to get up on stage. You don't have to be in front of anyone. We also have 1-on-1 and small group activities you can participate in. We want everyone to feel comfortable.

What does it cost?
This is a paid, ticketed event. We highly recommend purchasing a ticket on Fienta ahead of time, as the last four events have sold out ahead of time.

How to Book a Spot:
You need a ticket to enter. Secure your spot by purchasing a ticket on Fienta. An RSVP on meetup isn't enough.
