The comedy scene in Lisbon is growing and alongwith that our comedians have more and more material they'd love to showcase in front of you. Join us at this special split bill showcase featuring two handpicked comedians from Lisbon's vibrant comedy scene. We'll add in some amazing vibes from our lovely hosts and this will be a night to remember!

The comedians will do longer sets during this split bill so that you can get to know them better and they can get deeper into their material. This is why unlike our other shows we limit this show to 2-3 comedians.

This week we feature two of Lisbon's favorite comics - Margarida M (@gui__w__r) and Gareth G (@thegmancomedy).

Margarida fell into a squat loo aged eight and it’s been downhill ever since. The typhoid fever made her look real lean though. After her fifth stint in the asylum, she left with her hair dishevelled and thought she’d turn her life around… by starting comedy. Like Kanye West, this purest of art forms allows her to turn tragedy to triumph and spit her soul through the wire - in a laugh at kind of way. If you would like confirmation that your life really isn’t that bad - BOLARE THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU! She doesn’t know what the word “bolare” means, as it was likely invented by the Gypsy Kings, but it sounds…. Soooo cooool, maybe.

Gareth moved to Lisbon before it was cool, now Lisbon is so cool it makes him look very lame. Coming from Ireland, he has adapted to Portuguese culture by really working hard at not working, and spending his free time in long queues for nothing. He is renowned on the Lisbon comedy scene for his ability to make other comedians look great. His life’s goal is to avoid a work related accident in the fruit pressing and juicing industry.

Ash (@backpackme) will be joining us to host this lovely duo and entertain you all through the night.

Selva Comedy Cafe will welcome you to a cozy cafe with warm friendly vibes and we'll laugh the night away. Our comedians will have you in SPLITS!

Comedy is the best ice breaker, especially if you're new in town. So join us for a great evening of fun and maybe you'll even make some new friends for life.

Doors open at 8.30PM. Come enjoy some drinks! The show starts at 9PM so please be comfortably seated by then, drinks in hand.
The schedule is kind of like this:

8.30PM - Doors open and we start serving drinks and snacks
9.00PM - Comedy show starts
9.45PM - Short break, drink refill, perhaps a sneaky quick snack.
10.30PM - Show ends and there is time for more drinks, laughter, and merry making!

The venue (Selva Comedy Cafe) will serve craft beer, wine, cocktails (espresso martini, g&t, lisbon mule, etc.), Why Not organic sodas, kombucha, and some light snacks! If you get hungry, we have a partnership with our neighborhood small business Rico Pizza and you can order a New York style sourdough pizza with the freshest ingredients delivered right to your seat at the comedy show!
