Join us for a relaxed, friendly online gathering to talk about three classics of French cinema. Cynthia Brown and François host an informal conversation over Zoom about each film… what moved us, what surprised us, and the language, culture, and history behind the story.
Please watch the film before the session so we can dive right into the discussion. Our conversations will be in French as much as possible, with English available whenever it helps.

Cynthia Brown — A True Francophile
Cynthia has traveled to France more than 25 times and has visited numerous countries where French is the predominant language. France continues to hold a special place in her heart, and she returns regularly to spend time with her life partner, Christophe.
She has also earned the DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) A2 certification, demonstrating her commitment to continuing her French-language journey.
Beginning in October 2026, Cynthia brings that passion for French cinema to The French Club Cinema, where she coordinates the film class. She selects films for the group to watch in advance and leads lively discussions and Q&A sessions, creating an opportunity for members to explore French language, culture, history, and storytelling through cinema.
For Cynthia, being a Francophile is more than an appreciation of France — it is a lifelong journey of learning, travel, friendship, culture, and a deep affection for the French language and way of life.

The French Club is a global French-learning community focused on real, practical fluency. Founded in September 2024, it has grown into 24 international Meetup chapters across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, with 36,000+ members and a structured curriculum built in-house (200 modules, from A1 to B2, about 4,000 pages).
