About us

De Onlanden is right on our doorstep. It is a vast wetland landscape shaped by water, wind, and wildlife. But how often do we truly listen to it?

This is an open invitation to explore our local wetland through sound-based practice. No musical experience needed. Just your ears, your curiosity, and a willingness to slow down.

Each session is guided and held in a small group. Together, we'll move slowly through the landscape, paying deliberate attention to the sounds around us. Afterwards, we'll share what we noticed.

What to expect:

A 20–30 minute group soundwalk through de Onlanden
Open group reflection on what you heard
A short self-report form to capture your experience
Good company and fresh air

Getting there: Make your way to Madijk, 9766 TZ Eelderwolde — just south of Groningen.

(This walk, and the data collected, is a partial fulfilment of the facilitators MA Thesis in Art, Cognition and Criticism at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen)
