About us

A monthly book club organized by two English teachers who love good stories and better conversations. We read across genres (mystery, thrillers, fantasy, sci-fi, and more) and gather at local coffee shops, bars, and restaurants to talk books in a thoughtful but relaxed way. Partial reading is welcome, first-timers encouraged, and literary discussion is always friendly, not intimidating. Books, conversation, and community are equally important here.

Our first book club meeting will center on Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King, a gripping psychological thriller that invites questions about justice, obsession, morality, and the darker corners of the human mind.

Join us on Saturday, February 21st at 12:00 PM (noon) at The Fig Tree Coffee (217 Vernon St, Roseville, CA 95678) for thoughtful but easygoing conversation. One book is selected for the month, but partial reading is completely welcome—come with reflections, questions, or simply curiosity.

Discussion questions will be shared in advance to guide our conversation, though we’ll allow space for organic dialogue and tangents as they arise. Expect a balance of literary insight and relaxed discussion in a welcoming, community-focused setting.

Coffee, food, and drinks are optional. We look forward to reading and talking with you.
