Join us in Atlanta for an evening with Perfume: The Story of a Murderer—Patrick Süskind’s cult classic novel (in the English translation by John E. Woods) and its 2006 period psychological thriller film adaptation.
We’ll explore how a smell‑driven, deeply interior novel becomes a visual experience on screen, what has to change to make that work, and how both versions handle obsession, violence, and beauty.

This will be at the host’s home on a brand new 75” U8 high‑def TV in Midtown. It’s fully BYOB and potluck--bring something to share if you can!

You do not need to have finished the book (or even started it) to attend. Readers and movie‑only folks are both welcome; we’ll make space for book‑only thoughts early on and keep the main discussion accessible to everyone. Note that both the novel and film involve murder and disturbing content.
