Join us in Atlanta for an evening with Brokeback Mountain—Annie Proulx’s acclaimed short story and Ang Lee’s landmark 2005 film adaptation. We’ll explore how the film expands Proulx’s concise, quietly devastating story into a sweeping decades‑long romance, and discuss what performance, landscape, music, and silence can convey that prose handles differently.

It’s fully BYOB and potluck; please bring food or drink to share if you are able.

You do not need to have read the story to attend, but the discussion will be about both the story and the film.

• 9:00–9:45 pm – Group discussion comparing Annie Proulx’s story with the film
