{Hiking Series} M'sia: Gunung Irau (2,110m) + Good food in Cameron Highlands!
Details
*If interested, please whatsapp wa.me/+6588842635 or +65 8884 2635!* There are limited permits for Irau and we have secured them and the permits will be tied to the pax, so on a first-come first serve basis.
Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's largest hill-station, a scenic place famous for its tea plantations, fantastic cool weather and mossy forests. There are many different trails in Cameron Highlands, but most people are attracted to the mossy forests.
Therefore, we will hike to Gunung Irau (2,110m) which is famous for the mossy forest trail as the priority.
There are a wide range of flora and fauna in Cameron Highlands, a fascinating kaleidoscope of orchids, moss gardens, peculiar shrubs and pitcher plants. The hikes are less focused on the summit scenery, and more about the diverse and unique range of flora on the trail.
The trail is often known to be muddy, so be prepared for it (goodbye shoes)! There will be R&R elements on the 2nd day.
Do note that there is a limit to the number of hikers, so we will need to apply the permits in advance, at least a month+ ahead ideally.
Who is this for?
==> Love the forest fauna and experience the mossy forest!
==> Love mud (or you forced to love it either way)
==> Wish to do a 2,000m mountain
==> Experience a cooler temperature in Malaysia
Difficulty/ Fitness Level
The trail is through the forest and is known to be quite slippery, muddy, and full of branches and roots. You have to be prepared to use your hands and get down and dirty. However, the hikes are not extremely long (around 3h one-way), and not technically difficult, with some rope sections.
A good fitness level or mental perseverance is required to do the hike after a long bus ride. If not, Gunung Irau should be doable for most people.
Like most hikes, it is definitely going to be challenging and tiring, but doable even if you have little experience hiking, as long as you are open minded, embrace challenges and have some base fitness and mental endurance.
Transport : 40 seater bus.
Accommodation: Based on sharing rooms and estimated at $20-25 per pax!
If interested, please do whatsapp +65 8884 2635. Your place is only confirmed once payment is made.
