This group is for anyone who finds themselves with these little inner cravings for travel and the mountains. We welcome anyone, especially beginners or recreational hikers, of all ages and fitness levels.

Our aim is to encourage more outdoor travel and experiential learning; to inspire and encourage each other to step out of their comfort zone and enjoy the mountains along with new learning experiences. We wish to encourage a healthy living and fitness, along with appreciating nature as a lifestyle.

Also, we do not wish to be little monsters as travellers. We strive to promote sustainable travel, along with understanding and appreciating local culture. We hope that the experience more than just enjoying yourself and "YOLO".

Therefore, we try to make our trips as affordable and accessible for people.

For this meetup group, feel free to have discussions on trips or any questions on travelling or hiking.

Our trips primarily revolve around having mountains in the region. We do less of Malaysia and more of the other parts of the world to enjoy the different mountain ranges and areas in the world. However, we do some hikes in Malaysia just to build confidence and trust, or also for practical reasons as they usually don't require leave.

Do not worry if you are totally new! We wish to encourage newbies or first-time travellers/hikers/trekkers.

We will try to cater for different trips of varying difficulties. On top of that, each trip will come with advised training and detailed info-kits and briefing, explaining the difficulty and preparation for it!

You can fill up some forms if you wish to be contacted to help arrange trips for you. You may fill up the forms multiple times if you are interested in various trips, or just drop me a WA or email. These forms allow us to help group and gather people together to *make trips happen!* (Also helps for planning leave)

    {Leisure Hike} M'sia - Bukit Senaling (394m): Sunrise Hike + Sea of Clouds + R&R

Join us for a leisure hike, where the idea is to include hiking in our lifestyle. For the Leisure Hike series, we always look at a hike that isn't too intense, just to get our limbs moving, have fresh air, and hopefully good company too, and combine with an R&R activity. We'll do an easy hike for a sunrise view and enjoying being out nature before heading for good food in Malacca and leave for some time for R&R

So bring your friends, make new friends and hang out together! There is nothing like enjoying Nature and good food!

Bukit Senaling (394m) is a famous beginner hill in Malaysia which everyone goes for the "sea of clouds". It is a leisure hike up and down, so it will just be something to warm up the body and have a view! We'll try to pack some breakfast along the way (bring your own containers), or bring your own food, floor mats, or coffee/tumblers/cups. We'll start hiking early, so we can have breakfast at the summit while waiting for sunrise =)

It takes around an hour + to reach the summit, and the same amount down. The idea here is to take your time to enjoy the morning walk, the fresh air and the sunrise. It'll be nice to sip a hot drink while looking at sunrise, breathe in fresh air and feel connected to Nature. After which, we'll descent and head to either Malacca where its free and easy and we can all have some massage and good food!

If interested, do whatsapp +65 8884 2635. A whatsapp group will be set up for further information and coordination.

    [Hiking Series] M'sia - Ophir via Sagil (1,276m): Step-up for a full-day hike!

Marsiling (NS8) MRT Station, 71 Woodlands Avenue 3, Singapore 739044, SG

*If interested, please whatsapp wa.me/+6588842635 or +65 8884 2635! We have limited permits and must be applied in advance. Sign-ups are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! *

Gunung Ledang, or commonly known as Mount Ophir (1,276m) is the highest mountain in Johor and almost the most climbed mountain there.

This is a good step-up hike for those who are looking to progress to tougher hikes after Gunung Datuk or are training or preparing for Kinabalu/Nepal etc.

    Who is this for?
It serves as a good training or progressive hike for those who wish to do more hiking. Most do it as training for other treks, like Kinabalu, or Nepal.

How tough is it/How fit do I have to be?

It is twice as long as Gunung Datuk. The trek is around 4-5h up and 3-4h down, making it a total of 9h. The total elevation is around 1,000m up and down. It can be quite tiring on your legs.

It is generally tropical forest trail, with some rope portions, ladders and rock faces. It can be quite fun to go through the different terrain with the need to use your hands at some points.

However, if you have done Gunung Datuk before, the terrain is not that much of a surprise. The tough part is only the duration.

This is good for people who have some level of fitness, if not it will be fun for those who are first time in Malaysia!

What happens if I am slow?

There is a 1 guide to 7 hikers ratio. There is also a cut-off timing to the summit, if you fail to make it you will have to turn back! So far everyone I've brought made it =). Do note if you descent past a certain time, there is a penalty.

How many pax for the trip to happen?

Minimum 12 pax to start the trip!

Once confirmed, a Whatsapp group will be set up.

    Estimated Itinerary:

12.00 pm : Arrive at the peak (safety time at the peak until 2.00 pm)

    Some additional questions:

    1. How long is the ride to Mount Ophir

A: It takes only around 3-4h from Singapore

    1. The journey to Ophir only takes 3 hours, why do we set off so early?

A: This is so that we can save money on accommodation/driver cost/taxi to MRT station. This also means there is a lack of sleep, so try to sleep in the vehicle! Bring a travel pillow!

    1. Are there shower or toilet facilities at the park?

A: Yes there are but basic. Expect using a hose/bucket. Please bring a change of clothes and shower when you are down from Ophir. No smelly people in the vehicle!

    1. What do I have to look out for?

A: There are mosquitoes and leeches sometimes, depends on the weather.

    1. Where is dinner?

We would have dinner in Tangkak at a cheap and nice chinese restaurant, if there are dietary concerns there are other options around the area also.

[Hiking Series]Indonesia: Arjuno(3,337m)-Welirang(3,137m) Twin Summits Traverse

Looking to introduce hikers to other beautiful mountains in Indonesia, other than Rinjani!

This trip aims to do the twin summits of Arjuno (3,337m) and Welirang (3,156m) via a traverse route, where we head up one way, cross the 2 summits and descend via another route! On top of that, you will cross 2 Kembar Peaks, making it 4 peaks in total! This will be a camping trip with 2 nights of camping, with 2 sunrise hikes!

There are a variety of trails for the mountain and different types of views from both mountains! From stone trails, to sulphur rocks and miners, to lush forest and tall pine trees, to the huge active volcanic crater of Welirang. There are amazing views of the surrounding mountains from the top, being able to see Semeru erupting in the distance, or Arguporo, Lawu, Raung etc. You can take a walk around the Welirang crater which would be an amazing experience. If you still have energy, do spend sunset at the Kembar Peaks!

Individually, both mountains are not technically difficult or particularly long. They are similar in difficulty to Merbabu, which means they are "beginner-friendly". However, this trip is long and there are many ascents and descents before we cross to the different mountain peaks.

As this is a traverse trip, it is important to have the mental and physical endurance for this.

    Who is this for?

    > > * Challenge of doing 2 summits back to back!
    > > * Experience camping
    > > * Experience an overnight summit push
    > > * Multi-day hiking
    > > * Experience 3,000m mountains with beautiful views
    > > * Huge step-up from easy hikes Ijen/Batur if one has done it before and similar to Mount Ophir in Malaysia, but X2!
    > > * Not a luxury trip! For people who are open-minded and comfortable with camping and staying outdoors

    Can Beginners do it?

Depends on what kind of beginners, If you are adventurous and fit, I would say yes, as the mountains individually are not technically difficult. However, would be good to have some hiking experience at least! You have to be open-minded and mentally strong to do 2 mountains in 1 trip. You are expected to hike over 3 days, each day around 6 hours at least, with summit day being even longer. Some experience and good fitness is encouraged, if not have lots of mental fortitude.

If interested, please Whatsapp 8884 2635! Coordinate is done through the whatsapp group will be set up to coordinate further details and for a more detailed brief and instructions

    Q&A
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I’ve never surfed before, can I join?
Absolutely! Our destinations are beginner-friendly, and our instructors will guide you step by step to ensure you have a great experience. At the same time, there are always spots suited for intermediate to advanced surfers, depending on the swell conditions. So no matter your level, there’s a perfect wave waiting for you!

Is the retreat friendly for solo travelers?
Absolutely! Many of our joiners come solo, and our surf retreat is a great place to meet like-minded people.

    What happens if it’s raining?
We will surf rain or shine, as long as there’s no lightning we will continue chasing the waves!

What is the instructor-to-participant ratio during surf lessons?
One instructor will be taking care of two participants.

Will there be a chance of no waves to surf?
Nature can be unpredictable. On rare flat days, we make the most of it with other fun activities like snorkeling, beach volleyball, jungle trekking, or surf theory sessions to improve your skills. Either way, you'll still have an amazing experience by the beach!

    Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory to attend a surf retreat. While we do our best to ensure a safe and fun experience, insurance can cover unexpected situations like trip cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost baggage. It’s always better to be prepared so you can focus on enjoying the waves!

How many sign up is needed for the trip to happen?
Minimum 6 pax to start the trip. Once confirmed, a Whatsapp group will be set up.
