Important Update: Group Transfer Effective May 1, 2026

We want to share an important update about the future of this group. Effective May 1, 2026, this Meetup group will be closed, and the three groups in our network will be consolidated into one: Rhody Hikes.

As part of this transition, we will no longer be adding new members to this group.

We encourage all current members to join Rhody Hikes, where you’ll continue to experience the same spirit of adventure, community, and exploration you’ve enjoyed here. If you’re not already a member, please visit the Rhody Hikes Meetup page and join us — we’d be happy to welcome you into the larger community.

Even with this transition, we’ll continue creating great hikes and experiences that explore the wilderness of Rhode Island — from quiet forest paths to rugged coastal routes. Your enthusiasm and participation are what make these adventures meaningful, and we’d love to have you with us in Rhody Hikes.
We appreciate your understanding during this transfer process and apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. Thank you for being part of our community, and we look forward to seeing you on the trails with Rhody Hikes.

Waiver and Release of Liability for Little Rhody Hiking Club and Associated Hiking and Social Activities

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. BY RSVPING AND/OR PARTICIPATING, YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS BELOW.
As a condition of participation in any hiking or outdoor activity organized by Little Rhody Hiking Club (the “Group”), I, the participant, agree to the following:
1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that hiking and other outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to slips and falls, encounters with wildlife, adverse weather conditions, dehydration, and other potential hazards. I voluntarily assume all such risks associated with my participation, whether known or unknown.
2. Release and Waiver
I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Group, its organizers, hosts, volunteers, and associated members from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may be sustained by me or my property while participating in any Group activity.
3. Personal Responsibility
I certify that I am physically fit and capable of participating in Group activities. I understand it is my responsibility to bring appropriate gear, clothing, food, and water, and to assess whether an event is suitable for my skill and fitness level.
4. Medical Treatment
In the event of an injury or emergency, I consent to receive medical treatment deemed advisable. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result.
5. Meetup.com Disclaimer
I understand that the Group is organized through Meetup.com and that Meetup.com is not affiliated with or responsible for the activities or actions of the Group or its members.
6. Photography and Media
I understand that photos or videos may be taken during events. I grant permission to use these for promotional purposes unless I specifically request otherwise.
7. Legal Age and Binding Agreement
I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older and legally competent to sign this waiver. This agreement is binding upon me and my heirs, assigns, and legal representatives.

By joining and participating in a Little Rhody Hiking Club event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above terms (1-7).
