Open Door Outreach volunteers (Little Rock area)

This event is usually on a 3rd Saturday every other month, but will be on 4th Saturday which is closer to Earth Day. (Text/call Brian at 501-319-4789 before heading there if rain or bad weather is likely.) We will meet just inside Interstate Park. Look for the KLRB table and sign under the KLRB popup canopy. We'll pick up litter on both sides of the adopted street highway. If you have them, bring a litter grabber and gloves (a limited number will be available if you don't have any). Safety vests, trash bags, breakfast snacks, and water to refill your reusable bottle will all be provided. Because it's along a busy street, volunteers age 16+ are recommended.

To request a volunteer position, email Cadyn Qualls at cadyn@ronaldmcdonaldhouseARNLA.org . The fun run/walk begins at 2pm, but volunteer assignments are available beforehand, during, and afterwards. This fundraiser will help build a Ronald McDonald House next to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. RM houses provide accommodations for families while they have a critically ill child staying at a nearby hospital. On the 4th Saturday of every month from 3-5pm, ODO'ers are meeting at The Van's warehouse to organize the items that it distributes to homeless people in the greater Little Rock area. This is a terrific Fun & Feel Good group activity! If you'd like to volunteer on an individual basis, The Van has weekday shifts and requests contacting them through Messenger (on Facebook, go to facebook.com/ItsTheVan) to schedule.
