What we're about

Open Door Outreach is a terrific group for volunteerism, community involvement, and friendship! ODO is secular, nonpolitical, and open to everyone. There are no membership fees and no charges to attend any meetups; any donations are entirely optional. On the first Monday of each month, we meet to plan and learn about volunteer and community activities --and we also enjoy great people and great conversation! However, attending the monthly meetings is not required, we have numerous get togethers each month for participating in various types of volunteer, community, and fun social activities. So... this is a great Meetup spot for anyone who enjoys fun, friendship, and helping the community. :)

• What we'll do
Free wine, craft beer, food, live music, socializing --and Art-- at the Historic Arkansas Museum (HAM) for "2nd Friday Art Night”! This is a fun social outing for ODOers; no volunteering necessary. Event is officially from 5PM to 8PM, but most of us arrive around 5:30 or later. Brian will have his cell[masked] if you can’t find the group. After an hour or so at HAM, we often walk to the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies or to the Old State House Museum.

Directions to HAM: from LR or NLR on I-30, take exit for “Cantrell Rd, Clinton Ave” (exit 141A) then follow “Markham St.” exit signs to the River Market area, and you are almost there. Immediately after entering 2nd St. from exit ramp, take first left at light onto Cumberland, then next right onto 3rd St. Parking for HAM is on left (the lot says reserved but it's open to the public every Art Night). Address is 200 E. Third St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.

12th Annual Citywide Cleanup

Art of Design | Sha Davari

Please join us for the Keep Little Rock Beautiful's 12th Annual Citywide Cleanup!

For the Citywide Cleanup event this year, ODO will be cleaning up a short section of the River Trail near the entrance of the old, now closed, Cajun's Wharf, and may also clean the two-block stretch of Gill Street. We are offering free T-shirts to participants. We have eight new T-shirts printed for this event (two each of small, medium, large, and extra large), and we also have many T-shirts from previous Citywide Cleanup events.

We provide supplies like trash bags, gloves, orange safety vests, and picker-uppers, but feel free to bring your own if you would like.

We will park right next to N. Cantrell Road in the parking lot of Art of Design Interiors and/or adjacent businesses, which are near the former Cajun's Wharf.

You can arrive late; any help you can provide is very much appreciated. Cleaning supples will be left in parking area. Call[masked] to find Brian and crew, or to make sure we haven't finished too early.

Likely cancelled: 2nd Saturdays monthly dinner prep for W&CF

If you'd like to attend this, call Brian Shank at[masked] before heading to his house. The shelter is now hesitant for meals to be brought in (covid), and has significantly reduced occupancy for social distancing.

On the 2nd Saturday of every month, we prepare dinner for 40 women & children residents at the domestic violence shelter Women and Children First (they so appreciate it!). Once we've prepared the meal, then one ODO'er will drive it to the confidential domestic violence shelter location. No need to bring an ingredient. Bethany provides everything. However, she encourages donations up to $10 to offset the cost. This is one of our funnest and most fulfilling events - hope to see you there!
