What we’re about
Rock, Folk, Blues, Pop, Jazz, and sometimes Country! This group thrives on the energy of the live performance of singer-songwriters, classic bands, and up and coming musicians. We often patronize venues without reserve seating; 9:30 Club, Birchmere, Rams Head Live, Jammin Java and the lawns at Wolf Trap, Merriweather Post, and Jiffy Jube Live. Didn't buy an advance ticket online, that means you didn't get ripped off on the service charge. Need a night out with nice people? Sign up last minute and buy a ticket at the door from the house or from someone with a lame no show friend. Rain or shine, lets go see and hear some great music and drink a little beer and wine.

This is an June Wednesday night in Burke Lake Park. These guys have been playing their own brand of southern rock tunes for for over 40 years. The Roadducks are a five-man rock band based out of Northern Virginia. The band, formed in the spring of 1976, has played over 5700+ shows in every State from Texas to Maine. As one of the most enduring acts in American rock music, their audiences include venues ranging from the smallest club to the largest outdoor arenas. The Ducks” play in a variety of styles, but it is the guitar-driven ‘Southern Rock’ for which they are best known. Over the band’s career, they have toured with a virtual ‘who’s who’ of American rock, sharing stages with Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker, .38 Special, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Blackfoot, Foghat and others too numerous to mention. The Ducks learned from the best and it shows during their performances. The band’s show is a tad smaller these days but still has that big sound gleaned after so many years of not talking about it, but going out on the circuit and ‘doin it’!
- Styx + Kevin Cronin aka REO Speedwagon +Don Felder @ Jiffy Lube LiveJiffy Lube Live, Bristow, VA
Another $20 Groupon for us to see three classic rock acts, on a Thursday night Jiffy Lube Live. The bands are Styx, Kevin Cronin (lead singer of REO Speedwagon) and Don Felder (of the Eagles). STYX is the lineup we have been seeing for the past couple of years that includes original member Tommy Shaw and JY Young. Cronin of REO has lost the ability to use the REO name because is long time band mates (Neal Doughty and Bruce Hall) have decided to call it quits. Cronin has the rest of the touring band from last year with him. First up will be Don Felder know more for being the other guitarist in the Eagles (that is guitar player on Hotel California that is not Joe Walsh). Felder's second most famous claim to fame might be writing the theme song for the 1981 animated classic movie Heavy Metal. Here is a link for Heavy Metal (Takin' a Ride), which has his Eagles bandmates backing him on vocals. Lets plan on a warm summer night on the lawn at JLL.

Styx, Kevin Cronin, and Don Felder - Brotherhood of Rock Tour
Multi-Platinum rockers STYX–James “JY” Young (lead vocals, guitars), Tommy Shaw (lead vocals, guitars), Chuck Panozzo (bass, vocals), Todd Sucherman (drums, percussion), Lawrence Gowan (lead vocals, keyboards) and Ricky Phillips (bass, guitar, vocals), Will Evankovich (mandolin, guitars)—released their 17th studio album, CRASH OF THE CROWN, on June 18, 2021 The seven men comprising STYX have committed to rocking the Paradise together with audiences far and wide by entering their second decade of averaging over 100 shows a year, and each one of them is committed to making the next show better than the last.
For his first solo summer outing, iconic vocalist and hit songwriter Kevin Cronin’s band features the same multi-talented lineup that toured America in 2024 as REO Speedwagon. Cronin continues to be joined onstage by lead guitarist Dave Amato and drummer Bryan Hitt, who has played in REO Speedwagon since 1989. Additionally, Derek Hilland, who previously toured with Rick Springfield and Whitesnake, has been REO’s keyboard player since January 2023. Matt Bissonette, who spent 12 years with Elton John through 2023, signed on as REO Speedwagon’s touring bassist in November of that year.
No matter how you look at it, 2025 may be another the Year of the Fingers — Don “Fingers” Felder, that is. Felder, a true American rock and roll guitar hero, is very much looking forward to building upon his rich legacy as one of the most innovative riff-generating songwriters of the modern rock era while continuing his growth as a featured touring and recording solo artist.
