Jazz from the Behrman/Levit Quintet

This band features some excellent jazz musicians whom Meetup regulars have seen perform at Bird & Beckett, Piedmont Piano and elsewhere over the years. They are: Joel Behrman, trumpet; Jesse Levit, sax; Matt Clark, piano; Josh Thurston-Milgrom, bass; and Jeff Marrs, drums.

EVENT COST: $1 donation to the Meetup organizer (that's me!), plus the $25 cover charge for the show, collected upon entry to the bookstore (no advance ticket sales). CASH only for the cover charge.

SEATING is general-admission, first-come, first-served, on folding chairs with cushions. (The musicians are on a slightly raised stage.) Seating is limited to 30 people.

IMPORTANT: The reservation system at Bird & Beckett involves each attendee calling or emailing the bookstore to request a seat for themselves, and then arriving on time on the night of the show to pay your cover charge at the door and to secure a seat for yourself. WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: Unless joining me for the pre-show dinner, meet outside the bookstore by 8:15 p.m. in case there's a line. (The show starts at about 8:30 p.m, and goes to 10:00 p.m., with a break in between the two sets.) Please allow extra time for transit or parking, since latecomers risk forfeiting their seats to other people in line.

HOW TO FIND ME: See my photo with my Meetup profile. (I'm WF, 5 feet tall, now with glasses and short, salt-and-pepper hair.) I'll send my cellphone number to RSVPers before the show. PLEASE TEXT ME IF YOU DON'T SPOT ME.

TRANSIT/PARKING: The bookstore is located less than two blocks from the Glen Park BART station and Muni bus lines (and about one block from two ATMs) in an attractive commercial/residential neighborhood. Parking is on the street.

OPTIONAL PRE-SHOW DINNER: At 7:00 p.m. at a good Thai restaurant located between the BART station area and the bookstore. NOTE that dinner is limited to six Meetup members who haven't racked up a history of no-shows and late cancellations. (I can accommodate additional people for the show by itself.)
