13th International Boogie-Woogie Festival
Details
Let's enjoy some feel-good music via a cross-section of traditional and contemporary boogie-woogie music performed by pianists from Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Hungary, France and the United States, with accompaniment from a rhythm section. As an arts writer has said of boogie-woogie: "Some consider it the tap-root of American popular music -- the propulsive rhythm which helped shape not only jazz and swing, but the blues and rock 'n roll."
SEATING for this event at SF Jazz's Miner Auditorium is Assigned Seating and seems to be selling fast! I'm posting this event earlier than usual for that reason. Buy your own tickets. Deanna and I are seated in the BALCONY, in Seats B14 and B16. Please buy your ticket for an adjoining or nearby seat, if possible.
ADDED CLARIFICATION ON SEATING: Note that even-numbered seats are on one seat of the balcony section, and odd-numbered seats are on the other side. So zero in on the EVEN-numbered seats (shown on the LEFT-hand side of your browser window) when buying your ticket if you want to sit with fellow Meetup members.
NOTE that this is a Sunday AFTERNOON show. (The show starts at 4:00 pm and probably goes until 5:30 p.m.)
TICKET COST: $35 total if you're an SF Jazz member (or about $44, I think, for non-members, due to the ticket service fee)

HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, 5 feet tall, with short, salt & pepper hair and glasses. I'll send my mobile number to RSVPers prior to the event.
WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: In our concert seats prior to showtime.
TRANSIT: The closest BART station is SF Civic Center. Multiple Muni bus lines and underground Muni lines stop on Van Ness or Market, closer to SF Jazz.
OPTIONAL DINNER after the concert at a nearby place still TBD. Please bring cash if interested in the dinner. (Dinner headcount limited to six people.) I'll send info re: restaurant choice as we get closer to the event so I can gauge interest in that and make reservations as needed.
