Where jazz & classical music merge...
Details
Jazz and classical music trumpeter, composer, and arranger Christopher Lowell Clarke (known to Meetup members partly for his appearances over the years with the excellent Electric Squeezebox Orchestra) brings his brand-new band, American Classical Music Ensemble, to Wyldflowr Arts, an attractive, lounge-type setting, for an afternoon concert co-presented by Jazz in the Neighborhood. For this show, Christopher will be joined by Malachi Whitson on drums, Brad Leali on alto sax, Alan Jones on bass, and a pianist (the latter still tbd).
The concert goes from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (presumably with a break at the midpoint).
WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: I expect the doors to open about a half-hour before showtime, so let's meet at 1:30 p.m. outside the venue to increase our chances of getting good seats near each other.
SEATING is general admission, on scattered chairs and loveseats in an eclectic music and arts space that was started by musicians Tiffany Austin and Nora Free.
Buy your own tickets. Cost is $21.87 online.

TRANSIT: The venue is located a short walk (about five blocks) from MacArthur BART station in Oakland.
PARKING is on the street. If driving, allow extra time to find a parking spot.
OPTIONAL early dinner after the show, possibly at an upscale Vietnamese restaurant located at 40th and Telegraph. If we can't get in there on a walk-in basis, there are numerous other restaurants on Telegraph. Please indicate in your RSVP if you're interested in the dinner. (NOTE that I typically limit dinners to six people for logistical reasons - but I welcome additional RSVPs for the concert by itself.)
HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, about 5 feet tall, with short, salt-and-pepper hair and glasses. Will send mobile number to RSVPers before the event. Feel free to text me if you don't spot me.
