Free festival: Jazz on the Hill
Details
KCSM Radio's highly popular, FREE annual outdoor festival returns to San Mateo this year with a varied lineup of hour-long sets, featuring jazz, blues, and Latin music from a diverse range of outstanding musicians.
The festival's music performances on the Main Stage start at 11 a.m. (and go to about 6:00 p.m.) but I'm planning to arrive somewhat later, between noon and 12:30 p.m., with the latter time being more likely.
(In addition, there will be a separate stage of excellent young/student performers, from 11;30 a.m. to at least 4:30 p.m. The festival will also be simulcast on KCSM.)
The festival is outdoors, with easy access to festival food trucks and nearby public restrooms on campus.

LOCATION: The event is held on the College of San Mateo campus, in front of the CSM Library (Building 9) and the Theatre,

HOW TO FIND ME: I'm WF, about 5 feet tall, with glasses, and short, salt-and-pepper hair. I'll send RSVPers my phone number prior to the event - and, once I get seated, I'll post a Comment on the Meetup Event Page saying where I'm located. NOTE that I will try to save a few adjoining or nearby seats for folks, but cannot guarantee that I will be able to do so.
IMPORTANT: Bring a beach towel or low-backed chair to sit on, in case you don't arrive early enough to snap up one of the provided chairs in front of the stage. Also bring water, as well as sun protection, since the provided rows of seats that are located in front of the Main Stage are in the full sun for most or all of the day. (People may also choose to situate their beach towels or personal chairs in lawn areas that may get more shade.)
FOOD & DRINK: You may bring your own (but NO outside alcohol is allowed) or buy from at least six convenient food trucks at the festival site.

PARKING lots are located on campus, within an easy walk to the festival stages, but construction has reduced the amount of available campus parking this year. If you're driving, allow extra time to find parking on- or off-campus!
MASS TRANSIT: I believe that SamTrans has two direct bus routes to the campus, but anyone interested in that option should confirm with SamTrans ahead of time, to be on the safe side. The closest BART station is at Millbrae. Alternatively, people have the option of taking CalTrain to a SamTrans bus stop.
