Piano-led jazz trio
Details
Japan-born pianist Rumi Abe, now based in San Francisco, has become a familiar face at SF clubs with her brand of contemporary jazz. Now, she will perform at Wyldflowr Arts, an informal, lounge-type setting in Oakland, for an afternoon concert co-presented by Jazz in the Neighborhood. For this show, she will be joined by drummer Miles Turk and bassist Nico Martinez (who wowed Meetup members at Charles Chen's recent show at Piedmont Piano).
The concert goes from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (presumably with a break at the midpoint).
WHEN/WHERE TO MEET: I expect the doors to open about a half-hour before showtime, so let's meet at 1:30 p.m. outside the venue to increase our chances of getting good seats near each other.
SEATING is general admission, on scattered chairs and loveseats in an eclectic music and arts space that was started by musicians Tiffany Austin and Nora Free.
Buy your own tickets. Cost is $21.87 online. I believe you can also buy tickets at the door.
