Musical Marylebone

Medicine and cricket… that's Marylebone. Isn't it?
For once the showbiz and performing arts types have been elbowed off centre stage by the nurses, the doctors and the sportsmen. This tour aims to put the musicians back where they belong.

Marylebone is home to both BBC - from Teddy Bear's Picnic to Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

The word-famous Proms music festival has its genesis in not one but TWO Marylebone concert halls.

Its streets have been home to such pillars of the English classical music establishment as Sir Henry Wood and Constant Lambert - as well as music hall (vaudeville) venues at the other end of the musical class system.

One of London's most scandalous pleasure gardens is buried beneath its polite, geometric elegance - where we'll find the music of Henry Purcell and more.

Paul McCartney composed Yesterday in Marylebone.

The format…

The tour will take place on Zoom and I'll present with voice, clips, podcast excerpts, blog posts, slides, playlists and LIVE music the stories of musical places in Marylebone.
Group size is limited so that we can all interact. No more than 15 participants per tour.

Practicals

You will need to download the Zoom app and sign up for a free account.
You will receive an invitation to the tour with the login details on the day before the tour is due to take place.

About Your Guide

My name is Adam Scott-Goulding I'm a qualified tour guide working in London and, like everyone else, COVID-19 has turned my working life upside down.

In 2021 I'm staging virtual tours on ZOOM!

The zoom link appears on the bottom right-hand side of the event page under the name online event. Once you click on the online event link, it will take you to a third party which will be the zoom event itself.

You will be notified to continue, press continue, then it will take you to the zoom event itself.

Please log into the Zoom event at least 5 to 10 minutes before the event so you do not miss out or require any help with logging in issues as we are unable to assist during the zoom event.

We do not issue recordings of any of the zoom events.

If late, we may not be able to add you to the event and there are no refunds.

ONLY PRE-BOOKABLE IN ADVANCE

If you cannot make this event, a one-off transfer can be used for another zoom event, but must be chosen before this event takes place, otherwise void. No transfer is offered for any reason within 48 hours of this zoom event. Sorry no refunds

The zoom event is going ahead unless you have been contacted otherwise, please check the event on the day as zoom events may be cancelled due to certain circumstances which may occur. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, the date will be rescheduled or transfers offered to go on another zoom event

The host or organiser of the meetup group is not responsible for any circumstances where you personally may have log in issues. Other members are/were attending the zoom event which confirms there were no technical issues and the zoom links were issued and the operating system was working fine etc.
You are responsible for joining an event with your link and not the responsibility of the zoom event host/organiser.
In this instance no refunds are given.

Strictly no recording of the zoom is allowed for any reasons which would mean membership being cancelled.

If you miss an event there is no refund.
