Welcome to the Liverpool Theatre & Social Club! If you love the thrill of live theatre and enjoy meeting new people in a relaxed and casual setting, this group is for you. We aim to bring together like-minded individuals passionate about theatre and socialising. Whether you're a seasoned theatre-goer or new to the scene, everyone is welcome!
What We Do:
Theatre Outings: We'll organise regular trips to various theatres in Liverpool to enjoy performances, from classic plays to modern productions.
Pre-Show Gatherings: Join us for a casual meet-up before the show to grab a drink, chat, and get to know fellow members.
Post-Show Discussions: After the performance, we'll gather to share our thoughts and opinions on the show, continuing the conversation over drinks.

Join us for An Evening with Irvine Welsh at the Everyman Theatre on Wednesday 23 July 2025, 7:30 pm, where the iconic author of Trainspotting returns with his sequel, Men In Love. In conversation with Peter Hooton (lead singer of The Farm), Welsh will delve into the stories of Renton, Spud, Sick Boy, and Begbie, set in late ’80s/early ’90s rave-era Britain.

- Bums, Ballads & Belly Laughs – Come See Rooney’s RingRoyal Court Theatre, Liverpool
“The Legend of Rooney’s Ring” is a joyous, Scouse sword‑and‑sorcery comedy penned by Helen Serafinowicz (of Motherland, Amandaland, Nova Jones). Set in a magical, mythical Liverpool, it follows the bum-powered hero Wayne on a quest full of magic, romance, original songs—and plenty of daft gags—to retrieve the ring thrown by his beloved C’leen. Expect sharp humour, sweet tunes, and a big-hearted story as outrageous as it is affectionate to Liverpool life.

I'm seated in Circle – E16, which offers a great vantage point: elevated for clear sightlines, yet close enough to catch every comedic nuance and musical note. Feel free to book nearby.

Join us for Matthew Bourne’s The Midnight Bell at the Playhouse on Wednesday 17 September 2025 at 7:30 pm. Set in 1930s London, this award-winning dance‑theatre marvel brings to life the boozy, bittersweet tales of regulars at a Soho pub, their longing, flirtations, heartbreaks and redemption, through Bourne’s signature storytelling and choreography.
Critics are calling it “a boozy, sumptuous dance of hidden feelings.” Master storyteller Bourne has produced some of the most celebrated dance-theatre productions of the last 30 years, including Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Red Shoes, and Edward Scissorhands.

I’ll be seated in Circle, seat C7. It’s a lovely position for an immersive view, I suggest you book neighbouring seats for a great shared experience.

We’ll meet for a social drink before the performance—but as we’re heading across the river to the Wirral, I’d love to hear from anyone who knows the New Brighton area.
