St. Mary of the Lakes Carnival
Details
In Medford, the Catholic Church is holding its annual St. Mary of the Lakes Carnival. It has fun rides, carnival games, music, and more. I grew up in Medford and went to this festival many times. It's a great time and I hope you'll join me!
You can find more info about the festival here:

Parking
There are a couple places to park. I'll list the closet and the farthest.
Closest
- St. Mary of the Lakes School: It's the catholic school that the carnival is fenced beside. It's $5 to park, but it's closest to the front entrance.
- Medford Library: This is directly behind the carnival. Parking is free, but it's a small parking lot and it will be crowded. We'll be starting when they open the doors so there might be spots available.
Farthest
- Active Fitness: This is in a strip mall next to the school. Active Fitness is the closest storefront to the carnival. From Active Fitness, walk to the route 70 Highway. You'll see a sidewalk. Follow it passing Medford Ford, Medford Autocare, and you'll be able to cut along the grass near Rita's to reach the front entrance. It's about a 0.8 mile walk.
- Freedom Park: From the park, walk to the sidewalk on Union Street/Old Marlon Pike. Follow it down to the cemetery and you should see the library across the street. It's about a 0.5 mile walk but to me it felt longer than Active Fitness.
Meeting Spot
We'll gather at the carnival back entrance from 4 to 4:30. Anyone parked closer to the front entrance can walk inside and join us at the back entrance.
Ride Tickets
Ride Tickets are $2 each but you get a discount for buying in bundles. 12 tickets are $20 and 32 tickets are $50. Each ride is around 1 to 3 tickets.
Food and Drink
They serve food and drink near the large tent and there is seating there. I'm not sure what the prices are yet, but last year, I don't remember it being terribly expensive. They usually have hot dogs, chicken and fries, hamburgers and so on.
