### Forget speed dating; this is matchmaking with a twist.
At Pitch-a-Pal, you’re either pitching or being pitched. There are no spectators here.
If you’re pitching, you’ll step up for a quick two-minute max intro to tell everyone why your single friend is awesome.
If you’re single, sit back and let your friend (or your hosts) brag about you while you enjoy the spotlight.
Don’t have a friend to pitch you? No problem. David & Kimberly will handle your intro and make sure you’re part of the fun.
After the pitches, everyone mingles, fills out Connection Cards, and drops them into the match bags of the people they’re interested in.
Before heading out, each single takes their bag of connections home, kind of like Valentine’s Day back in elementary school.
And don’t worry, if your bag ends up empty this time, no one will know but you. This event is all about having fun, putting yourself out there, and trusting that your person is out there somewhere.
*This is a co-hosted event with my friend Kimberly's group Long Beach Alcohol Free Activities and Adventures. Please note this event is NOT alcohol-free, but we'll have a mixture of people who drink and don't drink attending. Everyone is welcome!
***
### Name Tag & Match Bag System
To keep things fun and organized, we’ll use color-coded name tags:
🟩 Green: Singles being pitched (name tag will include their name and number, e.g., “Steve #6”)
🪶 Beige: Friends doing the pitching
Each single will also receive a green match bag labeled with their name and number. That’s where admirers will drop their Connection Cards during mingling.
***
### What to Expect
- Lighthearted 2-minute pitches
- A fun, social crowd of singles and friends
- Icebreakers and mingling before and after
- Great food and drinks available for purchase from Roxanne's
***
### Important Details
- Participation only: You must be pitching or being pitched to attend. No spectators.
- Capacity: Limited to 50 total attendees. This event is listed across multiple Meetup groups and Eventbrite, so please don’t overanalyze who you see signed up online. Come to meet people in person, not to judge profiles on your phone.
