One of the most important habitats in our region is Máyyan 'Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve, the last remaining habitat for our State Butterfly, the federally endangered Bay checkerspot AND if you visit in early April, you might see a fabulous wildflower display that attracts the butterflies.
To enter this delicate environment, you need a docent from the Santa Clara Open Space Authority AND permission from the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency.
