Black Pride / Pride in the Park
Join us on Sunday 9 July for the perfect event to relax after Pride in London! Free entry! All welcome! This is UK Black Pride so the music and culture will follow that theme.
Pride in the Park returns to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, the day after the main Pride in London Parade and entertainment. Wind down, relax with friends, and celebrate LGBT+ in our great city. Don't go to the community centre, go to the park and find a space or find someone from the group via reading comments here or having a phone number to call in advance from an organiser/someone already here. I'll try to see to it that a number is sent round by the Friday before, but if you don't have online meetup access on the move, I strongly recommend you ask for a phone number a few days in advance.
Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens are a five minute walk from Vauxhall station (mainline station has step-free access, as does the bus station; but not the underground), adjacent to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (south side of the railway line/bridge, just east of the roundabout). There are usable parking bays (eg. single-yellow lines as its the weekend and CPZ bays). There will be accessible toilets, an interpreter and accessibility-trained stewards; assistance dogs welcome. There'll be food and craft stalls
In association with UK Black Pride, we’ll have live stage entertainment, music, dance, sport, events, stalls, food and drink, and the presentation of the Pride in London Parade Awards. Stage line ups will be confirmed in due course but will include finalists from Pride’s Got Talent 2016.
