Remember, Remember the 5th of November!!!
Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night, is an annual celebration held on the evening of 5 November to mark the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 5 November 1605, in which a number of conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, attempted to destroy the Houses of Parliament in London." Come along to enjoy the annual lighting of a huge bonfire and a fireworks display!
Blackheath fireworks is a long standing highlight of Lewisham’s event calendar. An estimated 100,000 people attend South London’s biggest and best free firework display every year. Visitors can enjoy the funfair, food stalls and a fully licensed bar before and after the display.
We'll be meeting at Zero Degrees beforehand right near Blackheath (The church in the pic is right across the street. Zero Degrees is a working brewery and pizza restaurant all rolled into one! They will have a BBQ starting at 4pm with burgers (£3.50) and pizza slices (£2.50). Their in-house brews at quite reasonable at £2.90 a pint! I have a table booked for a late dinner at 10:30pm for those that wish to eat then. Full food and beer menu is here: http://www.zerodegrees.co.uk/index.php
Hope you can make it for a fun night out!
Cheers,
Dave Mathews
