## About Us – London Caribbean Over 60s Outings Group

### Over 10 Years of Friendship, Fun and Community

Established in 2015, this group brings together people of Caribbean heritage aged 60 and over who enjoy getting out, exploring new places and sharing good company.
We’re proud to still be going strong, with a growing community, a varied programme of outings and plenty of friendship and laughter along the way.

### Joining the Group

Membership is open to people aged 60 and over. You must have reached your 60th birthday before applying to join.
As part of the application process, prospective members are invited to attend a short online Meet and Greet. This gives us an opportunity to meet one another and allows you to learn more about the group before deciding whether it is right for you.
For the safety and reassurance of our members, a clear, recent photograph showing your face must be displayed on your Meetup profile when you apply. Applications without a recognisable photograph cannot be considered.
While Meetup offers many interesting groups, a large number are aimed at younger age groups. London Caribbean Over 60s Outings was created to provide something different—a welcoming space for older adults with shared cultural roots and interests.

### What We Do

Our activities include:

• Day trips by coach or train
• Weekend breaks and holidays abroad
• Theatre and cinema outings
• Meals out
• Museum and exhibition visits
• Social events and much more

Suggestions are always welcome, so please feel free to contact me if you have an idea for somewhere you think the group would enjoy visiting.

### Travel Tips for Over-60s in London

Many of our outings involve travelling by public transport. The following options may help members save money:

• 60+ London Oyster Photocard: Available to eligible London residents aged 60 and over who have not yet reached the age for a Freedom Pass. It provides free travel on many TfL services and most National Rail services within London, subject to time and route restrictions. Visit the TfL website for current costs, eligibility and travel conditions.
• Senior Railcard: Available to anyone aged 60 and over, offering one-third off most Standard and First Class rail fares throughout Great Britain. Some restrictions apply. Visit the official Railcard website for current prices and conditions.
• National Express Senior Coachcard: Available to travellers aged 60 and over, offering one-third off Standard and Fully Flexible fares, including at peak times. Visit the National Express website for current prices and conditions.
