This talk explores how the Black creative revolution in the 1920's New York transformed the world, both then and now.
Please join me if you have an interest in history and finding out more about the century-long cultural impact of the Harlem Renaissance across the Black diaspora in a panel discussion led by acclaimed jazz talent development organisation Tomorrow’s Warriors, including Bonnie Greer, Margaret Busby, Soweto Kinch and Kevin Le Gendre.
The Harlem Renaissance saw an explosion of literature, music, visual art, and intellectual thought that defined a new African American identity. Black artists, writers and musicians were taking control of their own narrative and celebrate commonality of the cultural heritage of the African diaspora.
We will go for a drink/coffee and a chat after the talk to share and get to know each other better.
