Jasna Jovićević (alto and soprano saxophone, flute) and José Dias (guitar) present a collaborative duo exploring the intersection of jazz composition, and free improvisation. Their performance unfolds through original pieces, and improvisational soundscapes shaped in dialogue with the space and audience. Working interactively on the bandstand, the duo treats performance as a site of inquiry where listening and response generate music in real time.
Jasna Jovićević is a saxophonist, composer, and improviser working across contemporary jazz, free improvisation, and creative chamber music. She has performed at festivals and concert series across Europe, the USA, and Canada, leading ensembles such as the Jasna Jovićević Quinary, Jovicevic/Miklos/Wojcinski Trio, and co-leading ANJALI Trio. She has released nine albums as a leader, including Simple Joy (33 Jazz Records, London 2026).
Alongside her performance work, Jovićević is a Scientific Research Associate in artistic research, focusing on improvisation, embodiment of sound, and feminist perspectives in jazz. She is the author of the award-winning monograph Good Morning, Jazzwomen and the creator of the Aware Improvisation method.
