LoMAZ Extra: City of London Walking Tour

Join us for the second meet up of the day, a 2 hour walking tour that gives a run through the history of London (of which the price is not fixed, you pay the guide at the end of the walk what you see fit).

Highlights of the tour include:

The Monument: Centre of the Great Fire of London.
The Gilt of Cain: The City of London's first open recognition of the contribution of slavery to their wealth.
The Modern City: the Gherkin, Cheese Grater, Scalpel and Walkie Talkie. Where the City stands in the world today.
The Golden Triangle: The tiny alleys that housed the coffee shops of the 17th & 18th centuries frequented by stock market speculators and fraudsters but which also gave birth to modern capitalism.
The Bank of England and the Royal Exchange: Financiers of sugar and the slave trade.
Leadenhall Market: Stunning Victorian marketplace used as a set in a Harry Potter movie.

You must book yourself on this tour using the website above and confirm you have done so on your RSPV.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guide at the end the amount they consider appropriate.
The guide is in no way associated with LoMAZ, we are basically going to join as wholly independent tourists. The reviews seem good, this is as much as I can say!

The guide shall be wearing a black hat and carrying a yellow umbrella. I'll give you updates on WhatsApp on the day.
14:00pm: Walk begins

Underground Monument (a one minute walk, unsurprisingly)
For buses, please refer to https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/stop/490009267D/monument-station/ which looks to be a few minutes walk to Monument

If you are on the waitlist, please join the group only if/once space frees up and you are moved to the 'going' list.

LoMAZ events are run by volunteers. We limit event numbers as we prefer a smaller, friendlier group.

If you can no longer attend, please change your RSVP as soon as possible.
Members on the 'going list' who do not change their RSVP to 'no' and do not show up 3 times in a row will be removed from the group.
If you're on the waitlist, you will automatically be moved to the 'going' list if space becomes available. Please do not attend if you aren't on the 'going list'.
If you RSVP as 'Going' but then change your RSVP to 'No' five (5) times in a row, then you will be removed from the group.
