Walk the White Cliffs: Dover to Deal Coastal Hike
Join us for a stunning coastal walk from Dover to Deal, taking in the iconic White Cliffs of Dover along the way. This beautiful stretch of the Saxon Shore Way offers dramatic sea views, fresh coastal air, and a deep sense of history.
We'll begin in Dover and make our way up to the famous cliffs, following the trail past South Foreland Lighthouse and along the edge of the English Channel. Expect rolling chalk grasslands, panoramic vistas, and plenty of photo opportunities.
Along the route, we'll pass St Margaret’s Bay and continue toward the historic seaside town of Deal, known for its quaint streets, pebbled beach, and Tudor-era castle.
We’ll end the walk with the option to relax at a local pub in Deal before making our way home.
TRAINS: 10:04am train from London St Pancras International arriving at Dover Priory at 11:13am journey time 1h 9m (direct). Get a return to Deal.
WALK STARTS: 11:30am at Dover Priory
LUNCH: Pack lunch - ensure you have a pack lunch for the walk
WALK FINISHES: Approx 17:00 at Deal
PUB SOCIAL: We'll head to a nearby pub in Deal for a social chit chat over drinks. Location TBC
GETTING THERE (and back): You will need to make your own travel arrangements. If you are travelling by train please make sure you are on the 10.04am train from St Pancras, We will arrive at Dover Priory at 11.13am. Please ensure you book an return ticket to Deal.
Latecomers will have to either catch up or meet in Deal.
