S is for Sutton Hoo Gallery @ the British Museum + pub social

Join us on a visit to the Sutton Hoo and Europe Gallery in the British Museum.

This is as we build up to LoMAZ's out of London trip to the actual Sutton Hoo in Suffolk on 16th August. We are going to see the original objects in London before we go!

We are just going to visit this one gallery to spend time understanding not only the famous helmet, but all the other objects that do not get as much coverage.

After the museum, we are going to walk to the large Wetherspoon's Penderel's Oak pub for a Sunday summer evening social afterwards.

As this is a shorter look around one gallery in a large museum and we are going to a big pub, there is no attendee limit on this event.

MEET DETAILS:
3:00pm: MEET IN COURT CAFES @ the British Museum
Meet us in the Court Cafés, which are located on the ground floor of the Museum's Great Court.

3:45pm ~ GO TO ROOM 41, THE SUTTON HOO AND EUROPE GALLERY

5:00pm ~ Late: PUB SOCIAL
We'll walk to The Penderel's Oak for a social chit chat over drinks.

The four tube stations closest to the Museum are:

• Tottenham Court Road: 5-minute walk
• Holborn: 7-minute walk
• Russell Square: 7-minute walk
• Goodge Street: 8-minute walk

LoMAZ events are run by volunteers. We usually limit event numbers as we prefer a smaller, friendlier group. This event however will not have a waitlist as afterwards we are going to a large pub for a Sunday summer evening social afterwards.

If you can no longer attend, please change your RSVP as soon as possible.
We remove members from the LoMAZ Meetup group who:

• RSVP as ‘Going' but then do not show up (without changing their RSVP) three times in a row
• RSVP as ‘Going' but then change their RSVP to 'No' five times in a row
• Turn up at an event without being on the 'Going' list (i.e. members who have not signed up or are on the waitlist)
