Join us on a walk visiting from Cockfosters to High Barnet

Walk - Cockfosters to High Barnet via Trent Park
This walk links two Tube stations through some of North London’s loveliest green spaces. From Cockfosters, you head straight into Trent Country Park, with its mix of open meadows, woods, and lakes. The path continues through Hadley Wood and Monken Hadley Common, finishing in High Barnet.

It’s a gentle route with a mix of trails, woodland paths, and a few small hills.

Trent Park
Once a royal hunting ground, Trent Park is now a beautiful public estate filled with ancient trees, open grassland, and a stately mansion at its centre. The house played a secret role in WWII, used by British intelligence to eavesdrop on captured German officers. Today it’s a peaceful spot to wander, watch wildlife, and enjoy a taste of countryside right on the edge of London.

MEETING DETAILS

Underground – Take the Piccadilly Line to Cockfosters Station, which is the last stop on the line (Zone 5)

You can aim to arrive at Cockfosters Station around 11:30am, ready to start the walk by 11:45am.

Bus – Cockfosters Station is served by several London bus routes including the 298, 299, 307, and 384, connecting from areas such as Southgate, Enfield, and High Barnet.

Car – There is a small car park at Cockfosters Station (pay and display) and limited on-street parking nearby, but it can fill up quickly on weekends.

Meeting Point – Just outside Cockfosters Station main entrance, near the café by the bus stands.

MEETING POINT: 11:30am at Cockfosters Station

LUNCH: Please bring a pack lunch for the walk. No guarantee for a food / drink until we get to High Barnet

WALK FINISHES: Approx 15:00 at High Barnet

PUB SOCIAL: We'll head to a nearby pub in High Barnet for a social chit chat over drinks.

Latecomers will have to either catch up at the walk or meet in High Barnet.
