The Courage to be Disliked - London Fields Philosophy Walk

"Your life is not something that someone gives you, but something you choose yourself, and you are the one who decides how you live."

For this walk we'll be discussing The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga and wandering around London Fields and Shoreditch. This book is more 'self help' focused than our usual walks; it presents the ideas of psychologist Albert Adler in the form of a socratic dialogue. Adlers views are controversial (I disagree with many of them!) but they should be an interesting starting point for discussion.

We'll be walking from London Fields down to Shoreditch, passing by Broadway market and Columbia Road Flower market on the way. Meet at 11am at the exit of London Fields overground station - Mentmore Terrace side.

You don't have to read the book to attend, quotes will be provided.

This is a walking discussion group with handouts with quotes and questions provided as a starting point. The only rule is to keep all discussion friendly and constructive and be respectful of other attendees. No dogs please as they can be distracting in the group discussion. Please arrive early: we wait a maximum of 15 minutes at the meeting location and once we have left it will be very difficult to find us. The walk will go ahead no matter the weather so do dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if needed.
