Spanish - London Residents

A social group for people who live in London who want to meet others, practise Spanish and build genuine connections, mainly online with the possibility of meeting in person too.

Spanish is the main theme, but this is not a formal language class. You don’t need to be fluent or studying Spanish. Tanto si eres principiante, tienes un nivel intermedio o avanzado, como si simplemente tienes curiosidad por el español, eres bienvenido/a.

The aim is to practise Spanish together and help each other. Be patient with other members and don’t worry about making mistakes. We’re looking for people who genuinely want to socialise, get to know others and practise Spanish.

We’ll have relaxed conversations about everyday life, culture, interests and whatever comes up. We’ll also occasionally read and discuss short BBC News Mundo stories in Spanish, particularly about culture, technology, science and interesting stories from around the world.

Be ready to ask and answer simple questions such as:

¿Qué has estado escuchando últimamente?
What have you been listening to lately?

¿Has dormido bien hoy?
Did you sleep well today?

¿Estás tomando un café o un té ahora mismo?
Are you having a cup of tea or coffee right now?

¿Qué es algo interesante que has visto o hecho recientemente?
What’s something interesting you’ve seen or done recently?

The aim is to build familiarity over time and create a space where people can be themselves, listen to each other and enjoy conversation. We’re not a therapy group. Genuine conversation and sharing are welcome, but members are not here to provide therapy or ongoing emotional support.

The host will monitor behaviour and may remove members who are disrespectful, inappropriate or make others uncomfortable. Please protect your privacy and don’t share your home address or other sensitive personal information with group members.

We’ll start with online chats, with the possibility of meeting in person around London too.
