What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in 8 or 16-bit computing. The focus is on retro computers (modern implementations of old computers) but we'll happily talk about historical machines as well. If you have an RC2014, Z80-MBC2, LiNC80 or any other retro computer or are interested in old processors (Z80, 6502, 68000 etc) this may be the group for you. The group covers hardware, software, OS and programming. We'll focus on informal meetups but may include more formal presentations if there's a desire for it and we have willing speakers.

See all- Visit The Computer Sheds Museum - Jim Austin Computer Collection (near York)Computer Sheds Museum - Jim Austin Collection, Driffield
Last year we visited the Jim Austin Computer Collection AKA The Computer Sheds: https://www.computermuseum.org.uk/
There is a lot to see and we ran out of time before we saw everything.
It's not possible to get a guided tour before 2pm, but Jim has said we can arrive at 11am and wander around by ourselves for a few hours.
A few of us are planning to arrive on Friday and stay overnight in York in order to be able to arrive for 11am. We may also stay the Saturday night and visit the railway museum on Sunday.
If you are planning to drive and have space in your car please let me know as it would be great to be able to give people a lift from York train station on the Saturday morning.
