This Git In-Depth training is for developers who know the basics of Git but would like to go deeper on how things work behind the scenes. The goal is to provide developers with enough knowledge to avoid the pitfalls of using (or adopting) Git, clarify some of the doubts related to the most common Git commands and actions, and also make developers more comfortable to help their teams to benefit from the power and flexibility of a distributed version control system.

We have organised this low cost LSCC Edition to provide attendees with a more in-depth Git knowledge in exchange for their valuable feedback, which will be used to further improve the training.

It will be a one-day course taking place on Saturday, 14th January 2017, from 9am to 5pm. It will be composed of a number of theory and hands-on sessions. There will be a lunch break and tea/coffee breaks during the course of the day. The course will be a paid one (£50 + 20% VAT + Eventbrite fees). Please bring along your own laptop with the necessary setup (see below).

System requirements for the course:

• Git client (at least version 2.6.2)

• Windows users: ensure git-bash is installed

• Any Git GUI client supporting the above Git version

• Access to your personal GitHub account

• (Optional) an IDE integrated with Git (i.e. IntelliJ)

Note: Lunch will not be provided, however, tea and biscuits will be provided during the breaks.
