On Saturday 30th June, the LSCC is hosting London's first Legacy Code Retreat.

The format is simple. Like a regular code retreat, there will be between five and eight sessions of 45 minutes where you focus on a particular problem. The difference is you won't be starting from scratch. Instead, you will be working with existing (terrible) code. This might sound evil, but it's designed to help you learn techniques to deal with legacy code and be productive without contributing to the mess.

The event will run all day and the earlier you show up, the better. You'll need your laptop and your environment set up to work with Java, C# or Ruby. Pizza will be provided for lunch, and if you're a caffeine addict like me, there will be coffee and tea to get your brain ticking.

I've been looking forward to this one for quite a while. It's going to be excellent.
