Day trip to Winchester

Details
Come along on Saturday 28th March for a day trip to the historic town of Winchester!
About Winchester
Winchester is a cathedral city and former capital of England. It's major landmark is Winchester Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, with the distinction of having the longest nave and overall length of all Gothic cathedrals in Europe.
The city sits on the River Itchen and dates back to Roman times, although it is known for being the Anglo-Saxon capital of the ancient county of Wessex and then later the capital of England.
The cathedral dates back to 1079 and is the burial place of the Anglo-Saxon kings; Egbert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egbert_of_Wessex) and Canute (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cnut_the_Great). The writer Jane Austen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Austen)is also buried here.
Winchester is also known for it's Great Hall, which dates back to the 12th century and is famous for King Arthur's Round Table, which has hung in the hall from at least 1463. The table actually dates from the 13th century, and as such is not contemporary to Arthur. The names of the legendary Knights of the Round Table are written around the edge of the table surmounted by King Arthur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Arthur) on his throne.
