Come along on Saturday 14th October for a coach trip exploring historic Portsmouth!
About the trip
Portsmouth is a historic port located 74 miles south west of London. Portsmouth's history can be traced to Roman times and has been a significant Royal Navy dockyard and base for centuries. Portsmouth was founded in 1180 by the Normans in the south-west area of Portsea Island, a location now known as Old Portsmouth.
There are lots of options of things to do when we arrive. So its up to you what you want to do:
- Visit the Historic Dockyard
There is one price for this and it gives you entry to see the Mary Rose, Henry VIII's flagship which sunk in the solent in 1547 and was recovered in 1982. There is also a museum attached to it with the objects they found. You can also visit HMS Victory, Nelson's ship from 1805, HMS Warrior, a ship from the 1890's and various naval museum's. Entry also includes a boat trip around the harbour.
You can access the dockyard for free, but to access the ships and museums, you will have to have a ticket.
You can either book your own ticket at the link below or on the day, it'll be £34 per person for a group entry (payable by cash on the day) if you want to see everything.
