Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Palace was built as a gift to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, from Queen Anne and a grateful nation in thanks for his victory at the Battle of Blenheim on 13th August 1704. Its a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and current home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family and the birth place of Sir Winston Churchill.
The Park & Gardens
The grounds are immense and stretch over 2,000 acres, divided into formal gardens with a maze, several lakes and parkland. They are the inspired work of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown who created a lasting legacy in the Park at Blenheim Palace in the 19th century.
