Situation, emotion, expression – join us for a very special Kathe Kollwitz mixed media portrait drawing session with the great Nikki Gardham
We will be exploring the emotionally charged work of the great German Expressionist Kathe Kollwitz using charcoal, ink, conte and graphite- in a workshop designed to super charge your mark making with electricity.
We will be working from set ups based around Kollwitz imagery and model / performers who will take on the characters of her work, with props and lighting to recreate intensity and emotional texture.
Nikki Gardham is a master of markmaking and materials- and so great at infusing her workshops with exploration of materials and techniques. With plenty of demonstrations and one to one tuition, her teaching will take a deep dive into the processes behind Kollwitz work allowing you to create powerful and in depth studies.
This is a workshop definitely not to be missed!
