What to expect:
This workshop is hosted by acclaimed Gypsy Jazz guitarist John Wheatcroft.
Note: Biréli will be teaching with John for two hours only.
Schedule
Part 1 - warm-up / technique class with John (10am - 12pm)
In John’s morning session, we’ll be taking a detailed look at a range of techniques, concepts, lines and approaches taken directly from Biréli's incredible playing style. In these interactive but informal sessions (bring your guitar!) we’ll also be looking at some of the differences as well as the similarities across Biréli's broad range of styles.
Lunch break / practice time
Part 2 - workshop with John and Biréli (1.30pm - 3.30pm)
For Biréli's afternoon session, you’ll get the opportunity to see and hear him apply all these ideas and more up close and you can ask him questions directly about his personal approach to playing. Again, this session will be highly interactive, dynamic and packed with ideas, information and inspiration.
What is the minimum skill level for players?
Whilst there is no restriction, it is recommended that players have at least 2 years playing experience.
Can I come and listen only?
Sorry, this is a practical workshop for players only.
Where is the class?
The workshop takes place in the Limehouse Room which is accessed from the concert level foyer (floor B -2) at Kings Place. You will receive further information by email closer to the event.
