Shoot in the Style of Vivian Maier - Street Photography

This shoot in the style workshop focuses on the incredible work of Vivian Maier who has only recently been revealed as one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century.

But there is much more to this story than meets the eye, it can be described as: A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

Our "Shoot in the Style of" workshops that have been designed for 3 reasons:
-To improve your photography skills
-To help you learn to shoot in a different style
-To improve your knowledge of photographers and the history of photography

Maier's craft and vision far surpassed that of any part-time hobbyist and although considered reclusive, she produced a vast collection of street shots and many experimental self-portraits. Her work is infused with wit, humour and a deep sense of humanity.

Join us for a session that will help build your knowledge of some of the greatest photographers in recent history. You will learn who they were, what they did and why they are important. You will also learn to understand their style of photography which will potentially allow you to see things a little differently.

You’ll have loads of fun while working through a set of exercises to help hone your eye.

Any level of experience is welcome

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

• History of the photographer and of photography
• Photographers style
• Technical settings
• Build confidence shooting street

EQUIPMENT:

• Any camera
• A standard 18-55 kit lens will do or use a 70-200 for candid shots

OTHER ESSENTIALS

• A fun and experimental attitude!
