During this panel session, we will be focusing on ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) datasets and the technology we use to integrate it into the investment process. We will also be showcasing some of BlackRock’s Sustainability and Data leaders. We will touch on topics such as the role of ESG data in the panelists day to day jobs, what the data looks like, the technologies we use at the firm to process it and the relationship between ESG and financial performance.

Panelists

- Sophie Rogers, Vice President, leads the sustainable investing analytics program within Analytics Program Solutions.
- Yudong Li, Vice President, is responsible for providing data engineering services to enable BlackRock’s systems risk, trading, research and investment analysis capabilities.
- Emily Shen, Analyst, is a quantitative researcher in BlackRock's Systematic Fixed Income team
- Manling Li, Analyst, is a member of BlackRock Sustainable Investing, focused on identifying drivers of long-term return associated with environmental, social and governance issues.

In this session, we will explore how ISS – a leading governance data provider – data can be used for signal research, delving into the challenges and advantages of using Python to back test investment strategies.
