Woodland Beltane & Maypole dance 2026 (London)

Join us to celebrate BELTANE in the woods.. with a Pagan Ceremony & Maypole Dance. We'll drum, dance, do magic and have a feast. We will collect all attendees at 2pm from the entrance to Queens' Woods (the entrance on Queen's Wood lane), lead all to our prepared Ritual space, and begin our Beltane Festivities.

About Beltane:

At Beltane (May eve) the land is at it’s most lush and green, and fertile. In the God-Goddess myths, this is when the playful God is said to commit to the Goddess – which is symbolised by the Sacred Marriage! The Maypole dance that is traditional at this time symbolises the fertile powers of the masculine, penetrating the land, and the ribbons danced and woven around it lock that power! A ring of flower at the tip of the Maypole signifies the feminine. Magical working with the Fay (Fairies) is an important feature at this time.

Meeting point - is on *Queens Wood Road

Walk along Wood Lane. Half way along, it changes name to Queens Wood Road. Gather at ENTRANCE on `QUEENS WOOD ROAD'

Ritual Team member will come meet you, collect cash fees, and lead all into the woods, to our ritual space.

Safety --

If you feel unwell (even if it's just start or end of cough/ cold) please do not attend as you may infect many others! If unwell, please stay at home and get well soon. You can attend our next ritual.
The woodland terrain is unsuitable for anyone with breathing issues, heart conditions or mobility issues.
There are no formal toilets nearby . (nearest pub `woodmans' is about about 20minute walk from ritual spot).
What to bring?

Ritual items (optional):

Moon crowns, flower crowns Ritual cloaks, capes, masks; lanterns, candles in jars.
Torch light for safe walking at night.
Warm clothing & rain-coats/ outdoor shoes or boots (and ankle covered socks! ).
Small ground sheet to sit on for social.
Your own Cups/chalice to drink from.

Food & Drinks to share after ritual ---
example: bread, butter, pitta bread, cheese, small picnic food, soft drinks, wine.

Tidying up: Help us keep woods tidy . Please take any rubbish out to bins on pavements.
