A night at the theatre: TOMCAT by James Rushbrooke

Before we workshop the script with Papatango Theatre Company next Tuesday (https://www.meetup.com/londonwriterscafe/events/221768682/), you're all invited to join me as we view Tomcat by James Rushbrooke (http://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/the-little/tomcat/) as a group.

Since it's a Friday night, guests are very welcome to join. I can book tickets in advance at a 15% off - see my note below.

Three key scenes from the award-winning script will be made available to us before we see the play. Download here: http://files.meetup.com/260141/PapatangoDramaturgy%20-%20Tomcat.pdf

About Tomcat (http://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/the-little/tomcat/):

“Oh, she’s dangerous. But not because of her genes. Because of you.”
In the not-too-distant future, the world is better than ever. Diseases and disorders have been wiped out. But Jess doesn’t belong. She slipped through the net and there’s something dangerous in her DNA, something that must be ‘cured’.

Charlie is watching Jess. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep society safe.
As debate over genetic screening rages, Tomcat’s urgent vision questions the lengths to which we will go to keep humanity healthy. When you can learn everything about a person on a computer screen, does that mean there’s nothing left to discover?

How does it compare to the final production I wonder? We'll be going through how this production developed from script to stage in Tuesday's workshop (https://www.meetup.com/londonwriterscafe/events/221768682/) so if you can't get to this meetup, do get along and see the show before then.

We'll meet at 7pm for a drink and a natter before going into the show at 8pm. Hope to see you all there!

TICKETS:

If you'd like me to book your ticket(s) at 15% off, please book and pay for your place via meetup and I'll buy tickets with paypal funds. We'll collect all pre-booked at the box office on the night.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Once tickets are booked, refunds are out, so only request a ticket if you're definitely coming to the event and would your ticket purchased by me.

If you'd rather buy your own ticket, you can do so via Southwark Playhouse website (http://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/the-little/tomcat/). If enough of you want to buy your own tickets, I'll ask for a group promo code but I can't guarantee anything.

If you do pay via paypal (thanks!), I can see this on meetup so no need to confirm via email. Cheers.
