Welcome to the nineteenth meeting of the Page Turners Anonymous book club! We are a super laid back book club focusing on unconventional books (Idk what this means but it sure doesn't mean the normal books you would read at any other book club!). For our nineteenth meeting we are going to the carnival! The book is Geek Love by Katherine Dunn.

Summer is finally here and there is nothing that captures the feeling of summer like the carnival!. Geek Love follows the Binewski family who use drugs and radiation to breed their own performers! this book has everything love, family trauma, comedy, body horror, the fight between what is beautiful and what is ugly!

I want to emphasize that this is not a very high-stakes book club. What I mean by that is that I do not expect a doctoral thesis about the themes and symbology of the book. I just want you to focus on your favorite characters, scenes, and how you related to the book. This does not mean you can skate on by not reading the book. You are still expected to both contribute to the discussion and socialize with the other members. I think socialization and making friends with each other is the keystone to a good book club more so than the books.

We are going to meet at trademark brewing. They have an incredible selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) provided by a huge variety of restaurants! I will reserve a seat for everyone. Please do try to arrive on time as it would make the discussion easier. I
Everyone is welcomed here! All I ask is that you are kind and respectful to others. Again, the foundation to a good book club are its members. So please lets just treat each other like good friends. You may be asked to leave the club if you do not follow these stipulations.

Note: Since this is a new meetup group we are capped at 10 attendees. So please honor your RSVP. A book club cannot thrive without active members. Welcome to the twentieth meeting of the Page Turners Anonymous book club! For our twentieth meeting we are reading an absolute classic! , The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix.

As you all know I am a huge Grady Hendrix fan, well in this meeting we are going to be visiting one his great works! Everyone knows what happens to the final girl at the end of the movie, but what happens to them after the cameras stop rolling? well lets find out together!
